Expertise
CityTools' expertise covers three complementary areas :
Urbanism
Urban design, urban planning, programming, urban governance and strategy, urban planning law, project management.
Urban sociology
Inhabitants' lives and uses, cohesion and living together, urban cultures, communication and participation.
Environnement
Resilience on an urban or neighbourhood scale, urban metabolism, circular economy, environmental law.
How we work ?
CityTools mobilises its skills in four categories of projects, sometimes complementary ones on the same study site :
Design
CityTools offers, within its project teams, an innovative and multidisciplinary approach: town planning, sociology, geography and environment are integrated into the analysis and the creative approach of urban design, in order to offer solutions adapted to local realities: masterplanning, territorial analysis, environmental study, social diagnosis, financial and operational arrangements, etc.
Participation
CityTools' urban approach is built on a collective field process. We offer a series of tools allowing projects to be discussed with the actors in a territory, at each stage: defining competition specifications, mobilising actors, walking diagnosis, discussion forums, virtual participation and webinars, online surveys, participatory workshops, tests in the field, etc.
Project management assistance
CityTools assists project owners and project managers: civil servants, administrators, property developers, architects or town planners in charge of an urban project. CityTools puts its experience at the service of all stages of a project: prospective studies, feasibility, programming, town planning and environmental regulations, specifications, etc.
Culture
CityTools considers itself to play a role in cultural reflection on town planning, architecture and the city in general. This dimension is built at the start of our practice, or through our involvement in various associative, social, or cultural projects: interviews, exhibitions, thematic visits and study trips, implementation of innovative projects, temporary occupations, prefigurations, etc.
